TBA: Clarksville, This years Veterans Parade in Clarksville will be on Saturday,  at 10am.  The American Legion has always run the parade here and struggled to get a big turnout so this year they are teaming up with the city and combining it with an event called "Red Blue and You" which honors Firefighters, Police, and First Responders.  At the end of the parade all military vehicles, antique cars, Police and Fire units, will be parked and displayed around the courthouse and a ceremony and lunch will follow.  The legion will provide a free BBQ Chicken meal to all veterans and parade participants and there will be a Chili Cook Off going on as well, sponsored by the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce.  Police and Fire units will be on hand, along with military recruiters, and there will be several guest speakers.  With the city getting more involved and promoting the event I expect a larger turnout of both spectators and participants and the Legion is asking for all the military vehicles we can provide.  Keep in mind the Clarksville Legion has helped us out in the past with our convoys so please show your support if you can and roll into Clarksville with your best vehicle.  It should be a fun patriotic day.

Anyone wishing to participate can meet at my place that morning, plenty of room for trucks and trailers, and we can all convoy together to the parade line up.  Let's plan on leaving here at 9am that morning so we have time to get in place and riders loaded.  My address is 20 Craigwood Ln., Clarksville, just north of downtown.  Let me know if you can participate, what vehicle you will be bringing, if you have room for riders, and if you need directions: steveleesmith@hotmail.com

TBA: Huntsville, Veteran’s Day Parade and activities in Huntsville, Arkansas, We will have a flag ceremony on the square with a short presentation / music (Start around 11am). Parade around Huntsville square and then up at the Park for lunch.  We are doing a chili / beans/ soup cook off (Sponsored by the women's homemaker’s groups from our local extension office). We will then we will have a meet and greet with veterans, camo face paint , obstacle course with army pack and hand grenade throw, swing dance at our Amp with the NWA Swing Dance Society. We will have a couple of field tents set up so people can see how it was to live in the field.

We are going to have pictures and stories from our local veterans.  I am trying to get a fly over or static display of military aircraft. I hope that we could have some of your vehicles for people to enjoy looking at. I am going to encourage people to dress in military or clothing from a time-period of choice. We expect to end around 5pm so our older veterans can get home before dark, but I have reserved the park for the day so we can stay as long as we want and cook out for dinner if weather is nice.

TBA: Jonesboro, Our Craighead County Veterans Parade is on Saturday, TBA November 2020. I have a feeling that all your members are probably already committed. But, I have to ask: Is there someone who would like to share a vehicle with us here in Jonesboro that Saturday?

This parade is the largest parade conducted in northeast Arkansas.

On Saturday,  November 2020, the Jonesboro-Craighead County Veteran's Parade takes place. Sign up begins at 8:30 AM at the corner of Oak and Cherry Streets (downtown). The first unit will roll out at 10:00 AM. The parade route is Main (pass reviewing stand) to Huntington to Union Avenue. Units are released behind the Craighead County courthouse.

Immediately following the parade (approximately 11:00 AM), a patriotic program begins with speakers taking their turns on the reviewing stand.

Next year the same routine will be followed. That date will be Saturday,  November 2021. We would love to have any of your members come and share their restored (labor of love) vehicle with us. There is NO entrance fee involved.

We would love to see entries this year, if possible!
