    MISCELLANEOUS LINKS:

      1. One of the girls in my youth group, Aubree, found a great military scale models resource: http://www.justmilitaryloans.com/military-miniatures-guide-to-military-scale-modeling This looks like a great site for students and adults.  Sent in by Elizabeth Pawlicki

        Radio web sites:  Kent Chipman

      2. Under age veterans:  This is an international website for veterans that signed up for service in the military, but were underage.  They hid their correct age in order to serve.  They contributed to the victories in World War II, the Korean War and other conflicts.  Some served as young as 12, 13 and 14.  Most were between the ages of 15 and 17.  The age for enlistment was 18 for men and 21 for women (in World War II).  This is a website with a membership for under age veterans.  Many were afraid to tell their correct age for years after the war.  They certainly didn't tell their correct age while serving for fear of being punished and released from service.  www.oldvums.org is the international site.  wemorgan-vums.com is the commander's site in Ohiod.

      3. Here is a link to a good video.  The video is a reminder to honor our veterans.  This would be a good link to share with our club members.  You will need high speed internet to view it.  Dan Sharon     http://www.youtube.com/watchv=KTb6qdPu8JE&feature=player_embedded

      4. I've stumbled upon a WW2 Red Ball re-enactment group in the U.K. that has a great web site- check out: http://www.514th.co.uk/  This site gives a lot of background information on the WWII RED BALL CONVOY and also contains WWII pictures.  The radio show is pretty neat  Jerome Casey

      5. Shipping:  I work for uShip.com, a website that matches people with something to ship with transportation companies that can handle the job. We recently became an Associate Member of the MVPA and are reaching out to fellow members. We specialize in the transport of large and hard-to-ship items, and military vehicles would definitely fall into that category, so we wanted to get the word out to MVPA members.  uShip.com enables MVPA members to find great deals on professional transportation for their military vehicles.  By listing their item for shipment, members receive bids from professional transporters, can check customer reviews and then select the service that works best for them. Transporters bid against each other to win the job, driving down the cost of shipping.  We have set up a page just for MVPA members at http://www.uship.com/mvpa and welcome anyone who needs a military vehicle, parts or other large items shipped to give us a try. If you think your chapter's membership would be interested in this service, I'd be happy to provide more information.  We're excited about working with MVPA members, and hopefully we can help to transport more MVs to events and anywhere else they need to go. Thank you for your time, and don't forget to look for us in Supply Line.  Thanks,  Adam Greenspan  agreenspan@uship.com
